Portals

went to the oakland art murmur on friday. there were a lot of cool people there (see bottom).
the johansson projects gallery was not only architecturally beautiful but the walls were taken by three woman who must of been in cahoots to produce such a cohesive and technically mesmerizing show. jana flynn, tagged jungian landscape artist was perhaps my favorite. intricate lines and bleeding water marks create spaces that feel both grounded in our earth bound reality as well as supernaturally spiritual. (see also: anselm kiefer). the above image is actually 3-d: an impressively intricate paper cutout by jen stark.
this art made me want to art and what else is art good but this? so thank you.
